Online marketing is a business, and to succeed in any business there are costs.   Time, education, resources, advertising to name a few.

My advice to people that ask me this question is always the same.

• Find something your passionate about and that’s your niche.
• Discover an area of that niche that no one is addressing
• Become the expert in that sub/micro niche and brand yourself as such.
• Write quality information, articles, blog posts, free reports on your niche
• Devour as much educational info as you can and make action lists
• Poll your customers, friends and peers to find out what your doing right and wrong
• DON’T GET DISTRACTED by money making schemes and the next big thing.
• Provide value to others.
• Test Everything
• Attend Seminars
• Set Goals for everyday, 2 more backlinks, 2 more articles 2 more sales.

If you look at most of the successful people online, and many gurus, they all became recognized experts in something and parlayed that into a huge business.

You just have to be persistent, focus and don’t let yourself get distracted.
